Creative businesses need to adapt fast, be flexible in their approach and have a toolbox of creative strategies to be able to spot the multiple opportunities to ride out the storm. This workshop will give you lots of ideas, new perspectives and ways to maintain stability in the face of a challenging economic environment. Join us to learn how to start putting them into practice.
Claudie Plen and Gavin Andrews are founding partners of Edge Thinking (www.edgethinking.co.uk), a unique consultancy specialising in change, coaching and training for creative environments.
Speakers
Claudie is a qualified and experienced business coach, trainer and facilitator who has worked with people from organisations including Creative and Cultural Skills, the Royal Opera House, EMI, The Film Council, Momentum Worldwide, and The Independent, alongside a wide range of SME’s and freelancers across the creative sector.
Her recent projects include designing and delivering the Music Leaders Network in association with the Music Publisher’s Association, Cultural Leadership Programme, and the Arts Council, a nine month leadership development programme for women in the Music Industry.
She also founded Creative Alchemy, a unique business network for people working across the creative industries in London, and is a member of the ‘Make Your Mark Campaign Connectors Group’ which brings together the UK’s best ‘connectors of people’ to support and encourage business development through networking.
Gavin is a consultant, coach and trainer. He has a passion for helping people, teams and organisations to change and fulfil their potential, and for helping leaders to develop their skills and awareness. He is also a lecturer specialising in Leadership at Middlesex University Business School.
Gavin has a background in the media, having spent over 10 years in the industry as a manager. Most recently he was the client sales manager for Guardian Newspapers Limited, where his team were responsible for conceiving, selling and delivering creative marketing solutions for major brands including Sony, Apple and BT. He also launched and managed part of GNL’s business to business portfolio.
Gavin has a deep interest in personal development and is an NLP practitioner. He is an avid traveller, having spent a year backpacking throughout Southeast Asia. He is a keen mountainbiker and takes part in the occasional triathlon. He holds an MBA with distinction.
