CreateKX celebrates the evolving transformation of King's Cross through cultural events and experiences. In 2007 CreateKX produced Arrivals, a 10 day cultural programme which launched with the opening of St Pancras International. Spring 2010 will bring another exciting programme, REVEAL - a creative journey through King's Cross.

Arrivals

The St. Pancras/King's Cross redevelopment is one of the biggest regeneration projects in Europe. The re-opening of St Pancras Station and the arrival of the first Eurostar in November 2007 was a major milestone in this ongoing process. CreateKX led the 10 day Arrivals programme of events in order to celebrate this key occasion in the form of a creative exploration of what is becoming known as London’s new cultural quarter.

Produced and co-ordinated by CreateKX, Arrivals provided a platform for the local communities and businesses, creative practitioners and organisations, public sector bodies and developers to participate.

Arrivals encompassed new commissions of dance, live and digital art; artists' public realm interactions; arts projects by local communities and events produced by arts and cultural partners in a variety of venues and public spaces.

As a result, over 40 projects, exhibitions and performances took place in the 10 day celebration, led by almost 300 artists.

762 community members and young people participated, and 29,500 audience members were involved across the neighbourhood.

Arrivals was a partnership working with key public, private and voluntary sector organisations based in the area. CreateKX was the enabling and facilitating organisation, providing focus and creative leadership, whilst the range of Arrivals partners ensured quality and diversity of delivery.

London & Continental Railways (St. Pancras International) were headline sponsors of the event. The project was supported by Grants for the Arts, from Arts Council England.
We were also supported by London Boroughs of Camden and Islington, in addition to a range of local and international partners.
